
Sonya Jenssen, MA is a respected water resource specialist located in the Comox Valley. Since 2004, Sonya has been specializing in the study and understanding of drinking water policy, protection, treatment, and distribution in North America and Europe.
Her user-friendly research has been used by non-profits, provincial ministries, labour unions, educational institutions, and engineering companies. She is the author of the Comox Valley's Drinking Water Guide published in 2007, which is available as a pdf-file under the drinking water guide page or at libraries in the north Island.
Born in Vancouver, Sonya spent her formative teen-age years on Vancouver Island in the Comox Valley. Sonya graduated from the University of Bergen in Norway with a Master's degree in Water Resource and Coastal Management. Her thesis was an evaluation of a rainwater collection project in the Middle East where themes studied included water-scarcity and development aid.
Currently, Sonya is working on obtaining her Water Treatment and Water Distribution certification and plans in the early fall of 2010 to enroll in Chlorine Handling and Cross Connection Control courses.
